Abyss Eye M5: choosing your Japanese Pokémon display box

Looking for a Japanese Pokémon display box featuring Mega Darkrai ex? When choosing Abyss Eye M5, start with three points: the exact product reference, the contents of the box and the Shrink or No Shrink presentation. These pointers help distinguish card language, booster count and the condition of the outer wrap.

Identifying Abyss Eye M5

Abyss Eye is a Japanese expansion in the Pokémon Card Game MEGA series. The official presentation features Mega Darkrai ex among others and gives a Japanese release date of 22 May 2026. Each booster contains five randomly assorted cards.

Check the name and M5 code together. The word “MEGA” appears on several expansions: it is not enough to identify the one you want to receive. Also look at the cards presented by the publisher to choose according to the Pokémon and artwork you like.

What is inside the display box?

The Japanese Abyss Eye M5 display box presented by Poke-Geek contains 30 boosters of 5 cards, or 150 cards in total. This calculation describes a quantity, not 150 different cards or a complete collection.

This format lets you spread the opening across several sessions. If you are only looking for a specific card, keep the distinction in mind: boosters do not let you choose their contents. Mega Darkrai ex appearing in the expansion does not guarantee it will be in your box.

Shrink or No Shrink: choosing the outer wrap

The product page distinguishes two presentations:

  • Scellé (Shrink): the outer plastic wrap is present.
  • No Shrink (Sans Film): the box is offered without this outer wrap.

If you want to keep the display box with its wrap, explicitly select the Shrink variant. For a gift, check whether this packaging condition matters to the recipient.

If you intend to open the boosters, the No Shrink variant may be part of your comparison. This label describes the outer wrap: it does not, on its own, explain the box’s history. If a detail matters to your purchase, ask the seller about it before ordering.

Compare variants of the same product reference and language. After making your selection, check the label and amount shown in your basket. The presence or absence of wrap cannot promise better pulls.

M5 and MEGA Dream ex M2A: distinguishing two formats

The Japanese MEGA Dream ex M2A display box provides a comparison: its product page lists 10 boosters of 10 cards. The publisher presents M2A as a High Class Pack and confirms ten random cards per booster.

You are therefore comparing two expansions and two opening rhythms: thirty packs of five cards for M5, ten packs of ten cards for M2A. Start with the cards that interest you, then the number of packs you want to open. Booster count alone is not enough to make a choice.

In both cases, the cards are Japanese. Buying from a French shop does not change their language. Check this if you are completing a French-language collection or giving the display box as a gift.

Five checks before ordering

  1. Reference: Abyss Eye, code M5.
  2. Language: Japanese.
  3. Contents: one display box of 30 boosters of 5 cards.
  4. Presentation: Shrink or No Shrink, according to your choice.
  5. Current conditions: availability of the variant, price and fees shown before confirmation.

On receipt, compare the product and its external condition with the variant you ordered before opening the box. If there is a difference, photograph what you received and contact the shop to clarify the situation.
