Two or more players become "Illuminators" and use magical inks to summon a team of Disney characters called "Glimmers," who appear in both familiar and fantastical forms. Players explore the kingdom of Lorcana alongside their teams of Glimmers to be the first to collect 20 "Lore Shards."
In each game, players play characters, actions, and items from their hands and choose whether their characters are "sent on an adventure" to collect Lore Shards or challenge their opponents to slow them down.
In Glittering Skies , the kingdom of Lorcana is holding a grand celebration to celebrate their recent victory over Ursula, who was defeated in the previous chapter, Ursula's Return. While most of Lorcana's inhabitants take part in the festivities, a new mystery looms on the horizon, as our Illuminators search for a way to repair the damage Ursula's Glimmer has caused to the Grand Illuminarium.
